Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains how valtrieno uses cookies and similar technologies on this website, and how you can manage your preferences.

Last Updated: March 8, 2026

How this policy relates to our Privacy Policy

This Cookie Policy supplements our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal data more broadly. Cookies and similar technologies can involve personal data (for example, online identifiers) depending on how they are used. Where applicable, we ask for consent before placing non-essential cookies.

We keep this document practical: what a cookie is, which categories we use (essential, analytics, and marketing), and what you can do to control them. If you want to change your choices later, use the “Manage cookie preferences” link in the footer, which reopens our cookie controls.

What cookies are (and what else counts)

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. They help the site remember information about your visit, such as whether you have already set cookie preferences, or whether the site should keep a session consistent as you move between pages. Cookies can be “session” cookies (deleted when you close your browser) or “persistent” cookies (stored until they expire or you delete them).

Similar technologies can also be used to achieve related goals. These include pixel tags (small pieces of code embedded on a page that can signal a page view or conversion event) and server-side tracking mechanisms that record events on our systems after you submit a form. For advertising measurement, these tools are commonly combined with cookies, IP address, and device information (for example, browser type and user agent). We treat these tools under the same categories described below.

Cookies can be first-party (set by our website) or third-party (set by a provider whose tools appear on our site). When third-party cookies are used, those providers may receive information about your device and browsing activity on our site in accordance with their own privacy documentation. Our intent is to keep this proportionate: essential cookies for the site to work, and optional cookies only with consent.

Your control, your choice

Essential cookies are always on because the site needs them to function. Analytics and marketing cookies are optional and only activate after you choose them in the cookie controls.

To update your choices, use the footer link “Manage cookie preferences.” You can also delete cookies in your browser settings at any time.

Cookie categories
  • Essential: required for the site to function.
  • Analytics: helps us understand site usage.
  • Marketing: supports advertising measurement and relevant messaging.

Cookie categories we use

We group cookies and similar technologies into three categories. This matches the controls presented in our cookie banner and preference modal. Where required by law (for example, in the EEA and UK), analytics and marketing cookies are not set until you provide consent. You can withdraw consent at any time by updating your preferences.

1) Essential cookies (always active)

These cookies are required for the website to function and cannot be switched off in our systems. They include cookies that keep basic session continuity and store your cookie consent choices. Without them, the site may not work reliably or you may be asked for the same settings repeatedly.

Essential cookies are set based on our legitimate need to provide the website service you requested. They do not involve advertising measurement. Typical retention ranges from the current browser session to 12 months (for saving your consent choice).

2) Analytics cookies (consent required)

Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors use the site: which pages are read most, how people move between course information and registration, and whether the site performance needs improvement. The intent is not to identify you by name, but to understand aggregate usage patterns that guide content structure and usability.

If enabled, we may use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) with IP anonymization where available. Analytics data retention is typically set to 14 months in the analytics platform, while certain cookies may remain on your browser for longer unless you delete them. If you reject analytics cookies, we do not set GA-related cookies and analytics measurement does not run.

3) Marketing cookies (consent required)

Marketing cookies are used for advertising measurement and relevant messaging. They can help us understand which campaigns lead to actions such as “Register Interest” or form submissions, and they may support remarketing audiences so that course information is shown to people who have already visited this site.

If enabled, marketing cookies may be set by advertising partners such as Google (for Google Ads measurement) and Meta Platforms (for Meta Pixel measurement). These cookies are optional. If you reject marketing cookies, we do not set marketing identifiers for measurement and we remove certain marketing cookies if they already exist on your browser.

Cookie table

The table below lists cookies commonly used on this site and by the tools we may enable after consent. The exact set can vary depending on whether you accept analytics and marketing cookies and how your browser behaves. You can delete cookies at any time in your browser settings.

Name Purpose Category Type Retention
_site_session Site session continuity Essential First-party Session
cookie_consent Stores your consent choice Essential First-party 12 months
_ga GA4 user identifier Analytics Third-party 2 years
_ga_XXXXXXXXXX GA4 session state (10-char GA4 ID) Analytics Third-party 2 years
_gcl_au Google Ads conversion linker Marketing Third-party 90 days
_fbp Meta Pixel browser identifier Marketing Third-party 90 days
_fbc Meta Pixel click identifier Marketing Third-party 90 days

Note: Cookie names can change when providers update their systems. Where a cookie name includes a suffix (for example, an ID string), the purpose and category remain the same.

Third-party providers

We use a limited set of service providers to operate and improve the website. Depending on your cookie choices, certain providers may receive data through cookies and similar technologies when you visit the site. We do not permit these providers to use site data for their own independent commercial purposes.

  • Google LLC (Google Analytics 4, Google Ads measurement and remarketing): may set analytics and marketing cookies only if you consent.
  • Meta Platforms (Meta Pixel measurement and audiences): may set marketing cookies only if you consent.
  • Cloudflare (security and performance): may process IP and security-related signals to protect the site.

For details on how these providers handle information, review their privacy documentation. You can also choose to opt out of certain advertising features using industry tools referenced below.

Manage cookies and ads settings

Browser controls vary. Some blocking tools can affect site functionality, especially if essential cookies are disabled.

How to manage your cookie preferences

You can manage cookie preferences in three ways:

  1. 1) Use our cookie controls: Open the preferences panel using the “Manage cookie preferences” link in the footer. From there you can accept all, reject non-essential, or choose analytics and marketing cookies individually.
  2. 2) Use your browser settings: Most browsers allow you to delete cookies, block third-party cookies, or block all cookies. If you delete cookies, you may see the cookie banner again because your consent record is stored in your browser.
  3. 3) Use provider opt-outs: Some providers offer dedicated opt-out mechanisms (linked above). These do not always remove cookies, but they can change how data is used for measurement or targeting.

If you have questions about this policy or how we apply it in practice, contact us at [email protected].

Changes to this Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in technology, legal requirements, or the tools we use on the website. If we make material changes, we will post an updated version on this page and revise the “Last Updated” date above. Where required, we will request consent again for non-essential cookies.

For a broader explanation of how we process personal data, including legal bases, retention periods, and your rights, read our Privacy Policy.
